In many places around the world airport parking is simple and cheap but in a crowded country or highly developed areas parking at airports can be expensive and you may find your car parked a considerable distance from the airport terminal.
Price is used to differentiate between convenient and easy parking and less convenient but cheaper car parking at airports. The cost of parking next to the airport is usually higher but if your employer is paying you may not be concerned. If you are less well off you may choose to save money by parking at a distance from the main airport terminal to reduce the cost of parking your car at the airport.
The law of supply and demand applies to airport parking as much as anything else. The airport management company or the car parking contractor will set a parking cost at whatever the customers will be prepared to pay. Demand for car parking at airports has grown as demand for air travel has increased.

If you are travelling to the airport at odd hours of the day or night using your car will seem the most convenient way to get there. If you are travelling to an airport some distance away the transport connections offered at airports may not help you much.
Many airports will be served by train services offering a good alternative to parking at airports with trains arriving almost inside the terminal but if the train line is nowhere near your home that may not help much. Some travellers are happy to use buses and coaches to get to the airport but if you are travelling with luggage it can be very difficult.
The problems with buses and trains are all about convenience. You have to fit in with the service provided rather than choosing when you travel to the airport. It may be more convenient to drive to the airport but the cost of airport parking is the price you have to pay.
